Cold Shooting Dooms Utah Jazz In Blowout Loss To Denver Nuggets

DENVER – The Utah Jazz started their final multi-game road trip of the season with a blowout loss to the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena on Friday.

The Nuggets took off early, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter. The Jazz were able to take advantage when Nikola Jokic took his first rest but the game got out of control once the MVP candidate checked back in.

Collin Sexton led the way for Utah with 20 points. Keyonte George and Kyle Filipowski backed him up with 18 points each. However, as a team, the Jazz shot just 35 percent from the floor and 17 percent from three.

Utah will continue its road trip on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets, who are now without LaMelo Ball for the rest of the season.

The @utahjazz started Isaiah Collier, Collin Sexton, Cody Williams, Kyle Filipowski, and Oscar Tshiebwe tonight, and unsurprisingly are struggling to score against the @nuggets.

Nikola Jokic hits an unreal buzzer beater from 3/4 court to give the @nuggets a 57-47 lead at the half.

Keyonte George really is such a talented offensive player.

Great passing ability, can create his own shot, becoming a bit of a foul merchant (that’s a good thing).

Comes down to consistency on both ends, he’s got to prove he can get there.

The Jazz’s only real run in this game came when Jokic was on the bench. Shocker.

Absolutely dirty spin move from Collier but he gets packed at the rim. Jazz trail by 21 going into the fourth.

I will say in my interactions with Cody Williams, I don’t get the impression he has any doubt that he belongs in the NBA.

He’s aware shots haven’t fallen for him this year, but he doesn’t talk like someone who is worried they aren’t going to make it.

— Ben Anderson (@BensHoops) March 29, 2025

Now, having confidence alone doesn’t fix it, but I think you’d rather he believe in the process and his own upside than the other way around.

— Ben Anderson (@BensHoops) March 29, 2025

Rough, rough shooting night for the Jazz. Under 35 and 18 percent.
