ANDONI Iraola praised the AFC Bournemouth women’s team after they won the National League Division One South West title last weekend.
The [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium to clinch the league title with four games to spare – having gone unbeaten for more than two years and for two full seasons, so far.
They won the league in front of a record crowd of more than 7,000 fans at Dean Court, thanks to goals from Jenna Markham and Katie James.
Asked about the team’s achievement, and whether that will motivate his men’s side for the remainder of the season, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “Obviously for the club, the women's game was key, it was vital.
“I think they fully deserved it because I think it's almost two seasons, they've been amazing and I think now they receive the reward.”
AFC Bournemouth’s women’s team travel to Worthing on Sunday as they look to continue their perfect run in the league, having won 18 out of 18 games so far this term.
The men, meanwhile, host Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium, aiming to reach the FA Cup semifinal for the first time in their history.
