INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — No. 2-seed Tennessee basketball will play in the Elite Eight for the third time in program history on Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium when it plays No. 1 Houston. Tipoff between the Volunteers and Cougars is scheduled for 2:20 p.m. ET on CBS.
Tennessee will play in the Elite Eight for the second consecutive season, for the first time in program history. Purdue ended Tennessee's season in the third round a season ago when Zach Edey's Boilermakers got the best of Dalton Knecht's Vols, 72-66, in Detroit, Mich.
The Volunteers would advance to the Final Four for the first time in program history if it beat the Purdue or Houston. This year's Final Four will be held in San Antonio, Texas.
Tennessee beat down Kentucky 78-65 on Friday night to advance out of the Sweet Sixteen. UT secured its 30th win of the season with the victory.
