Steph Curry Reveals Truth About His Injury After Two-Game Absence

The Golden State Warriors (42-31) were forced to begin their current six-game road trip without star guard Steph Curry earlier this week after he suffered a pelvic contusion on March 20. Unsurprisingly, he was sorely missed as Golden State went winless in the two games he missed including a 26-point loss to Miami on Tuesday.

Curry returned to the court Friday night, leading Golden State to a 111-95 win over New Orleans. He did not have his best shooting night, converting on just 7-of-21 from the floor and 5-of-16 from three. However, Curry still managed to lead all scorers with 23 points.

After the game, his injury was the focus of several questions from reporters, and Curry was clear where things stand regarding his health.

"I'll feel it for a while, but I can play, and I can't make it worse," Curry said. "It didn't bother me, I'm just aware of it."

Steph Curry said his recent injury reminded him of that hard fall on his tailbone in Houston back in 2021. But this one isn't as bad. Deep contusion as opposed to hairline fracture in 2021.

Curry expressed that going forward the injury shouldn't be an issue for him.

"As long as I feel like I did tonight and don't have any other incidents where I fall, then I should be fine," he said.

After a sub-par shooting night on Friday, Curry will look to get back into rhythm when the Warriors travel to San Antonio on Sunday night. After a full week off due to the injury, he was not at his best

"I felt good," Curry said. "I mean a week off is great in one aspect because you're resting, but the timing, the endurance of getting your regular minutes, that was a little bit of a challenge."

The Warriors face the Spurs on Sunday before traveling to Memphis and Los Angeles ahead of a two-game homestand. Golden State is now 42-31, good for seventh in the Western Conference. They are tied with the Los Angeles Clippers and a half-game ahead of Minnesota.
