Andy Cole picks the fourth'fantastic'Man Utd legend who should stand alongside the Trinity, he'd be a popular choice

The Manchester United Trinity is among the greatest trios in the history of football.

For Manchester United, the Trinity is related to the club’s superstar trio of the 1960s.

This includes Sir Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and George Best, with the trio forming a sensational attacking group which saw all three win the Ballon d’Or during their careers.

All three are United legends, with their combined stats for the club a sensational look into how dominant they must have been back in the 1960s, likely striking fear into the opposition.

Manchester United Trinity stats

Player Games Goals

Best 320 179

Charlton 758 249

Law 404 237

Total combined 1,632 665

The Trinity are forever remembered with the magnificent statue situated outside Old Trafford. The statue will be relocated to New Trafford once it is built in the coming years, which is among the most vital things to see included in the build.

Now, Andy Cole has picked one United legend he would put alongside the Trinity.

Andy Cole picks his Manchester United Mount Rushmore

The term Mount Rushmore is often used as a way of selecting the four best in a defined category, with it often being entirely subjective.

Premier League in the USA on Instagram have now asked Cole to name his Mount Rushmore of United club legends, to which he named the Trinity and another ‘fantastic’ player.

“This is my Mount Rushmore of Manchester United legends. I mean, for me personally, the first three are simple. There’s a trilogy at Manchester United for a reason, and that is why they’ve got the statue there.

“Sir Bobby, Denis and George Best and I think those three players that I’ve mentioned there, you know, epitomize what Manchester United are as a football club. Having special players, and what special players do for Manchester United. So there’s three.

“The last one might be a little bit difficult because there’s been so many unbelievable players. Tough one for me, but I’ll put Roy Keane in there.

“I had the opportunity to play with him. Fantastic player, great leader, an inspiration off the football pitch, and I’d say his leadership skills, just phenomenal.”

It is impossible to argue against Cole’s picks, with each being more than worthy of their place. But there are so many others who also deserve it.

Manchester United could name a dozen Mount Rushmores

Due to how successful United are, picking just four names is an almost impossible task, but Cole did an excellent job.

However, everybody will have different opinions on who should be named on Mount Rushmore, with a lot of it depending on the era of the fan choosing.

For those who grew up in the Sir Alex Ferguson era, Keane would possibly be joined by Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Eric Cantona.

United have enough club legends to name a dozen Mount Rushmores, but who would be on the ultimate list?
