Resistance Units Mark A Turning Point In Iran’s Struggle For Freedom

In the Persian Calendar year 1403 (March 2024–March 2025), PMOI Resistance Units played an unparalleled role in confronting the tyranny of the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran. These units, inspired by the decades-long resistance deeply rooted in Iranian society, managed to survive under extreme repression and experienced significant quantitative and qualitative growth.

Over the past year, by increasing the number of their activities, they demonstrated that they can challenge the dictatorship anywhere in Iran, from Zahedan to Tehran. The statistics testify to this quantitative and qualitative rise.

With over 39,000 anti-regime activities across 31 provinces and 135 cities, the Resistance Units made a remarkable record over the past year. This level of activity signifies substantial quantitative growth compared to previous years.

Iranian Regime’s Special Committee Denies Responsibility for 2022 Protest Crackdown in Report to UN

Iran-Protests-January-4-2022-696x395-1

The Iranian regime’s special committee, appointed by President Masoud Pezeshkian to investigate the nationwide protests of 2022, has submitted its second report, including a copy to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The report absolves the government of responsibility for the brutal suppression of the protests and denies allegations of torture. Strikingly, it states that had firearms been used more extensively, the protests would have been quelled sooner.

The report, made public on March 26, was handed to President Pezeshkian by the committee’s head, Hossein Mozaffar, on March 12. Iran’s permanent mission to the UN delivered it to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on March 21.

Instead of acknowledging the social and political causes of the protests—such as state interference in personal freedoms and widespread human rights violations—the report attributes the unrest to U.S. sanctions and economic difficulties.

Majidreza Hariri, the head of the Iran-China Chamber of Commerce, has openly acknowledged the pervasive corruption within Iran’s economic system, warning of its catastrophic consequences.

Speaking in an interview, he revealed that $25 billion is smuggled out of the country annually and likened the economy to a sinking ship: “If we don’t close the holes in this ship of corruption, we will all sink.”

Hariri highlighted that capital outflows have been ongoing since 2011, with an estimated $10 billion leaving Iran each year.

Wealthy individuals, pressured by economic instability and systemic corruption, are transferring their assets to destinations like Toronto, Barcelona, southern Spain, Istanbul, Dubai, and recently Oman, converting them into real estate and other investments.

Appeasement Iran’s Regime is Complicity in the Suppression of its People

Suppression-of-Iranian-protesters

It is no surprise that Ali Khamenei, the Iranian regime’s supreme leader, has taken a firm stance in rejecting the U.S. proposal for negotiations. Throughout various stages of international talks on its nuclear program, the Iranian regime has always sought negotiations that would allow it room for deception and maneuvering. Meanwhile, the Iranian regime’s covert efforts in its nuclear program are fundamentally aimed at acquiring nuclear weapons, allowing it to impose itself and its policies on the region and the Iranian people. Iran’s nuclear program was first exposed by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the largest Iranian opposition group, which brought the issue to the attention of the global community.
