'I thought I had vertigo': Thailand earthquake videos show infinity pools overflowing as skyscrapers shake

Myanmar and Thailand were jolted by a  powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake on Friday with buildings and bridges collapsing and more than a thousand people getting killed in the disaster.

In Myanmar, at least 1,002 people were killed and 2,376 injured in the quake which has its epicentre near Mandalay. Around 30 people were missing with casualties expected to rise.

In Bangkok, six people were confirmed dead while 26 were wounded and 47 went missing. Most of the casualties were reported at a 33-storey skyscraper in Bangkok's Chatuchak market.

**'They're so brave'**

A Korean man from Bangkok shared a horrifying video from a high-rise building, showing the skyscraper shaking and the infinity pool on the building overflowing in the tremors. A child can be heard crying in the video clip.

In a later post, the user said his family is safe and have evacuated from the building. "We have come down from the 31st floor. The little one is fine too. They are so brave, didn’t fuss at all even when we had to take the stairs," the man wrote.

**'I thought I was having vertigo'**

In another video, a Scottish influencer, Travis Leon Price, shared his "scary experience about how he escaped from the 40th floor of a skyscraper. "I was all the way on the 40th floor and the room was swaying from side to side," Price said, adding that he initially thought he was having vertigo. 

"Then I looked out of the balcony and saw water splashing over the edge," he added. He then said he took the emergency stairs that took him 20 minutes to climb down.
