Everything you need to know about Newcastle United’s open-top bus parade and open-air event to celebrate winning the Carabao Cup.

Today is the day the city of Newcastle comes together as one to celebrate its proud football club’s success.

13 days ago, Eddie Howe and his players made history by becoming the first Newcastle United team to win a trophy since 1969 after beating Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. It also marked the club’s first domestic trophy in 70 years.

Several members of Howe’s squad have just returned from Dubai, while others are back from international duty. Today is the first opportunity to have one big get-together, and it promises to be a very special day. A black and white party.

Here is everything you need to know about the day:

Newcastle parade: What time does it start and finish?

Supporters with tickets for the open-air event on the Town Moor are advised to arrive from 1:30pm onwards. Meanwhile, the open-top bus parade begins at St James’ Park at 4:30pm.

Those with tickets for the Town Moor are encouraged to go directly to the Town Moor site, where the parade will be streamed live on large screens.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

1:30pm: Town Moor site opens

2pm: Carabao Cup Final replay (Town Moor)

4pm: Main Stage entertainment starts (Town Moor)

4:30pm: Bus parade begins (St. James' Park)

5pm: Bus parade arrives at the Town Moor

5pm: Q&A with legends

6:35pm: Players on stage

7pm: Sela Spectacular Surprise

7:30pm: Event finishes

The bus will travel from St James’ Park, past the STACK, towards Eldon Square and up Percy Street - passing Haymarket - on its way to the Town Moor where it is expected to arrive at 5:30pm. A list of the road closures are as follows:

Newcastle parade: What is happening on the Town Moor?

It will feature a DJ, live band, 'Road to Wembley' highlights, a screening of the full cup final and special guests, including Ant & Dec, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand and Bob Moncur.

There will also be a Q&A with Howe and his players before the team lifts the Carabao Cup - presenting the club's first domestic trophy for 70 years to the city. The celebrations will close with a “spectacular surprise” from club-partner Sela.

Newcastle parade: Can I bring alcohol with me?

No. Supporters will be able to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Daysack-sized bags (roughly A4) will be allowed on site but will be subject to security checks. The following are not permitted on site:

Food, drink and retail outlets at the Town Moor will accept card and contactless payments only. This is a cashless event.
