Dubai: Beneath the towering Clock Towers complex that overlooks Islam’s holiest site, a new addition is quietly transforming the experience of millions: the world’s largest barbershop.
Designed and operated to international standards, this sprawling facility—located just steps away from the Grand Mosque—offers a quick and seamless grooming experience specifically tailored for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
With 170 barber chairs and the capacity to serve over 15,000 visitors daily during its initial phase, the center is redefining efficiency in one of the world’s most logistically complex cities.
The average haircut takes just three minutes. But the project is about more than speed—it’s part of a larger plan to upgrade the central barbershop zone in Mecca, enhancing the overall service ecosystem surrounding Al Masjid Al Haram.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to improve the city’s readiness to host growing numbers of pilgrims each year while integrating seamlessly with large-scale projects nearby, including Masar Mecca, Jabal Omar, and Thakher Mecca. Together, these developments reflect a vision of Mecca as a city that is both sacred and smart—rooted in tradition, yet equipped for the future.
