David Moyes will already have one eye on next season Everton look certain to avoid relegation once again.

Everton feared relegation when Moyes replaced Sean Dyche in January, but have since steered 17 points away from the danger zone after going nine games unbeaten.

With nine games left to play, the Toffees are set to move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium as a Premier League club, as opposed to being in the Championship as some feared.

However, they are also facing a big summer upheaval as they have 13 players running out of contracts at the end of the current season.

Moyes to pull off ‘special’ feat at Everton

It is imperative that Everton get their transfer business right as it is their ‘only chance’ of going from relegation-battlers to pushing for European qualification, according to Tony Cascarino.

The talkSPORT pundit is certain that Moyes will be thinking the same as he looks to take advantage of the added revenue coming from the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

Cascarino is of the view that the Scot will be determined to push the envelope in his second spell on Merseyside and could pull off something ‘special’.

“He has got to look at clubs that have had great seasons this year, whether it’s Forest, whether it’s Brighton, whether it’s Crystal Palace, and many other clubs we’ve talked about… Fulham”, Cascarino said on talkSPORT (29 March, 6:53 am).

“Their recruitment has to be up there with the very best, that’s your only chance of being competitive, and I think David Moyes will think across them lines because Everton with a new stadium with new revenue and added revenue coming into the club makes them very competitive.

“But, there’s that big jump from fighting relegation to actually getting closer to Europe, but that’s the only thing he’ll be thinking about.

“He’s gone back there and he’s in the twilight of his career, and he’s got the opportunity to do something special at a club with a new stadium, and that’s always tricky with a new stadium, isn’t it?

“The club seem to have a bit of a downside, but I think there’s a lot of optimism around the club and I think David is thinking that as well.

“He’s not coming into Everton like it was many moons ago when he left Preston as a trialist. He’s coming back as a proven manager, so fair play to him.

“I think he’ll give it a real go at the football club.”

Moyes to work with Angus Kinnear on new transfers

With over 10 players potentially on their way out, Everton are already laying the groundwork for new transfers this summer.

It is worth noting that The Friedkin Group have roped in Angus Kinnear from Leeds United as the Toffees’ new CEO.

Kinnear, who is set to join Everton on 1 June, will work closely with Moyes to decide on footballing matters, including transfers.

The Merseyside-based club are moving away from a model centred around a single director of football, as they did under Kevin Thelwell in recent years.
