Liverpool will hope to take another step towards the Premier League title when they face Everton in the Merseyside derby in early April.
The Reds currently boast a 12-point lead over second-placed Arsenal at the top of the table, although that advantage will be cut to nine points if the Gunners defeat Fulham in their next game.
Arne Slot has enjoyed an impressive debut season at Anfield, despite seeing his side exit both the FA Cup and Champions League since the start of the year, as well as losing the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle United.
Despite this, the Reds still sit pretty at the top of the Premier League table and are on course to win the competition for just the second time in the club’s history.
This summer could be one of huge change at Anfield, with three key players in the final months of their current contracts.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are all set to be out of contract this summer, and the former has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Now, it has emerged that Liverpool have made a surprise decision in relation to Slot’s squad.
According to Football Insider, the Merseyside club haven’t given defender Conor Bradley any assurances that he would succeed Alexander-Arnold as first-choice right-back if the Englishman departs this summer.
Bradley will hope to establish himself as Liverpool’s first-choice right-back next term
The report suggests that Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Real this summer, and it had been assumed by many that Bradley would step into the 26-year-old’s place.
It is claimed, however, that Liverpool are planning to delve into the transfer market this summer to source a new right-back to provide competition for the Northern Ireland international.
Bradley recently made his 50th appearances for the Reds across all competitions, but the Northern Irishman has missed several matches due to injury over the past couple of years and the report claims that Liverpool are therefore keen to bolster Slot’s squad with a new right-back.
Bradley is under contract with the Reds until the end of the 2o26/27 campaign.
