Marshall Munetsi has just urged ‘super’ player to stay at Wolves, ‘everybody here loves him’…

Wolves will return from the international break in great spirits ahead of their Premier League clash against West Ham on Tuesday.

Many Wolves players flourished on the international stage, including striker Matheus Cunha, who scored in Brazil’s loss to Argentina.

Big clubs want Cunha ahead of the summer transfer window, and Vitor Pereira is powerless to keep him as his contract contains a £62.5 million release clause.

The Brazilian is the most nailed-on player to depart but Pereira could have a difficult job on his hands to keep his other greatest talents.

Rayan Ait-Nouri is admired by Liverpool and they could make a move for him while Joao Gomes is also attracting interest.

Marshall Munetsi has urged Joao Gomes to stay at Wolves

Gomes is wanted by Tottenham, who have shown admiration towards the Brazilian midfielder ahead of the summer.

The 24-year-old is an influential figure in midfield and has formed a top class partnership with countryman Andre in the engine room.

Wolves could find it difficult to keep someone of his Gomes’ ‘super’ quality, but Marshall Munetsi is hopeful that his teammate will stay for another few years.

Speaking to the E&S, Munetsi said: “The first time that I saw him I thought ‘wow, what a player’. With him and Andre, it’s a strong midfield.

“He’s someone that the club really cherishes. Everybody here loves him. People would love to see him spend a couple of seasons here and help the team achieve greater things.

“The talent is there and hopefully he can really keep on pushing and improve even more.”

Andre thinks Gomes could leave Wolves

While January signing Munetsi was hopeful of the Brazilian staying for a few more years, or at least urging him to, Andre thinks Gomes could leave Wolves.

“I don’t think he should stay there [Wolves] for long, because of the great player he is, I believe he will have bigger flights to take,” he said.

Andre believes his teammate has greater opportunities out there to explore, which despite being a thought shared by most, could be seen as a crushing blow to those at Molineux.

Molineux News exclusively revealed that Wolves hope to snub interest in Gomes and want him to remain at the club for at least another campaign.

Gomes committing his future would be music to everyones ears as he’s simply the complete midfielder and difficult to replace.
