Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will hope to see his side keep alive their slim Premier League title chances by beating Fulham when the Premier League returns on April 1.
The Gunners currently sit second in the top flight standings and look set to finish as runners-up for the third consecutive campaign, but a 1-0 victory over Chelsea last time out reduced leaders Liverpool’s advantage at the top to 12 points.
With just nine games remaining, the Reds are firm favourites to lift the trophy in May, but Arteta will expect to see his side keep battling while a league triumph remains mathematically possible.
Away from the action, Arsenal have reportedly been told that one of their transfer targets will cost them at least £100 million.
According to TBR Football, Crystal Palace have put a £100 million price tag on midfielder Adam Wharton, who has attracted interest from several clubs including the Gunners.
The 21-year-old joined the Eagles from boyhood club Blackburn Rovers in January last year and enjoyed a meteoric rise during his first six months in the Premier League.
Wharton is valued by Crystal Palace at £100 million
The midfielder’s impressive debut season earned him a senior call-up to the England squad under Gareth Southgate, and he was included in the Three Lions’ squad for the European Championships last summer.
Whilst Wharton missed several weeks of the current campaign through injury, the Englishman has returned to action of late and made an instant impact in Oliver Glaser’s side.
His impressive displays have attracted interest from several clubs – including Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool – but the report claims that Palace have told interested clubs that they value him at £100 million.
Premier League champions Manchester City are said to have watched the central midfielder in recent months, while Champions League holders Real Madrid are also credited with an interest in the former Rovers man.
