The Milwaukee Bucks took on the New York Knicks Friday night, falling 116-107 during a night in which superstar Bucks forward Giannnis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points while hauling down nine rebounds and dishing out seven assists in a losing effort.
Antetokounmpo and the Bucks now trail the Knicks in the East with a 40-33 record on the year, casting shadows of doubt on their NBA Finals hopes going forward.
Following the game, the man known as the 'Greek Freak' couldn't help but respond to his contemporary LeBron James' recent boast on 'The Pat McAfee Show' that he would "score 250 points" if he played during the 1970s era of NBA basketball.
"Yeah I don't know about that take...I think it's a wrong take," Antetokounmpo said about what James said.
"I think if I play(ed) in the 70s...Probably more 275...No, I'm joking.
"Great compliment, but I don't like comparing eras. It's not fair. You know, if I played in the 70s, how everybody practiced and how everybody played, I would play the same way...You know, the game evolves...We got to 2020 and we know more.
"You know, people shoot the ball from half court...It's totally different, so you cannot compare this era with that era."
Giannis on LeBron saying he'd score 250 points in a 1970s game:
"It's wrong take…probably more 275 I'm joking. Great compliment. But I don't like comparing eras. It's not fair. If I played in the 70s, how everybody practiced & played, we'd play same way…The game evolves…" pic.twitter.com/p3rtCK38nj
