Everton still have a number of days until they return to Premier League action for their trip to Liverpool.
The Toffees will be looking for a similar performance to their last Merseyside Derby, which saw James Tarkowski write his name in Goodison Park history.
David Moyes will be hoping to welcome back some of his players from injuries following the international break.
There has been some positive news around Everton on the injury front over the last few days.
Vitalii Mykolenko’s scans came back positive with his injury scare not as serious as first feared.
Whether that means the left-back is available to play on Wednesday is another matter, but there’s been more developments.
Dwight McNeil has been absent all year following his training ground injury back in December, but he’s just shared a potential hint ahead of the trip to Anfield.

Dwight McNeil shares injury boost for Everton
On Friday, Everton posted images of McNeil back in action at Finch Farm following his lengthy time of the sidelines.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
McNeil returned to Everton training at the start of the international break, but this is the first time he has been spotted by the cameras.
Taking to social media on the evening, McNeil posted one of the photos from training to his Instagram story.
Although he did not use any words to caption the image, McNeil did post the hourglass emoji suggesting he is nearing his full return.

Everton fans will be desperate to see the midfielder back in action after what has been a long period out.
However, expecting him to be back on Wednesday may be a stretch, considering he is making a return from surgery.
McNeil had been praised for his 2024/25 season up until he picked up the injury and he will certainly bring back a creative spark to the Everton attack.
Everton handed Iliman Ndiaye injury boost
It was not just McNeil who was spotted back at Finch Farm on Friday for training.
Iliman Ndiaye was also seen at Everton training, but it was initially unknown whether he was participating on the action with the first team.
As it turns out, he was. And the Senegal international now appears to be nearing a return to Premier League action following his injury against Liverpool in February.
Two huge boosts for the Toffees in having their two most creative players back on the grass, but Moyes will surely be looking to avoid any further setbacks with the pair.
