Manchester United’s U21 side were back in action on Friday afternoon in the Premier League 2, following a lengthy break.
Travis Binnion’s side had a disastrous start to the clash, with Leeds United weathering an early storm to take a two-goal lead in this U21 version of the Roses rivalry.
However, this was not the end of the story for Manchester United as Sekou Kone flipped a switch in the second half to drag the Red Devils back onto level terms.
Last summer, Kone was a deadline day arrival for United, and after a season of integration and also first-team recognition, Friday was the teenager’s breakout performance.
First, he scored a brilliant volley from the edge of the box in what was a very impressive finish – reminding United of the Paul Pogba and Kone comparisons, which were prominent upon his arrival.
Kone then won the penalty for Sam Mather to equalise, before the game ended 2-2 on the day. After his performance, MUTV’s Liam Bradford compared Kone to Kobbie Mainoo.
Now, Kone has taken to Instagram with a message.
