Liverpool v Newcastle United Carabao cup final at Wembley Stadium, London - a crowd of Newcastle fans.
The day of celebrations will be unforgettable for Newcastle fans
Newcastle United are expecting 150,000 fans to descend on the Town Moor today, Saturday March 29, to celebrate the historic Carabao Cup win, with thousands more set to line the streets of Newcastle as the trophy is held aloft on the bus tour through the heart of the city.
The day of celebrations will be one of the biggest the city has ever seen, with Newcastle City Council calling it "the equivalent of putting Glastonbury on with two weeks' notice". Those attending have been urged to follow travel advice, prepare for large crowds, and stay safe as they enjoy what is sure to be an electric atmosphere in the Toon.
Road closures and parking restrictions have been put in place to help ensure the safety of the crowd, and the council has confirmed that the parade will have a "significant" police and stewarding presence. Both the parade and Town Moor event will have a major impact on the region's transport network, with all public transport expected to be very busy all day.
The Town Moor site will open at 1.30pm, with the bus parade beginning at 4.30pm and celebrations continuing into the evening. To help keep children safe when attending the event, an initiative is in place today that all parents and guardians should be aware of.
Special wristbands can be picked up for kids either en-route to the festivities at specific locations in the city centre, or at the Town Moor itself. These bands have space for a contact number to be written on, in the event that children become separated from their adults.

In addition to this initiative, Newcastle United will have a visible stewarding presence across the Town Moor event site, supported by the club's Safeguarding and Welfare team. Along the parade, there will be designated safeguarding stewards, supported by a team of Newcastle City Council staff.
The council confirmed: "At the Town Moor, Newcastle United will deploy its own team of Wellbeing Officers whose role will be to manage any safeguarding issues, as well as hand out wristbands and provide general welfare advice and support. There will be three welfare tents on the site which will act as 'lost child' points and somewhere attendees can access general welfare support, including water and phone charging facilities."
