Andy Cole has paid the ultimate compliment to fellow Manchester United legend Roy Keane.
Ther pair were part of United's famous 1999 treble-winning campaign with both playing a huge role in the Reds' historic season. Cole scored 24 goals across all competitions as part of a formidable strike force with Dwight Yorke, who netted 29 times.
Keane, meanwhile, played an influential role in midfield with his performance against Juventus in the Champions League semi-finals a notable highlight. The Irishman went on to miss the historic final against Bayern Munich in Barcelona through suspension, but his contribution along the way was vital to United's treble.
And when asked to pick his Mount Rushmore of United legends, Cole picked Keane alongside the Reds' holy trinity of Sir Bobby Charlton, Denis Law, and George Best.
“This is my Mount Rushmore of Manchester United legends. I mean, for me personally, the first three are simple," he told Premier League in the USA on Instagram.
"There’s a trilogy at Manchester United for a reason, and that is why they’ve got the statue there.
“Sir Bobby, Denis and George Best and I think those three players that I’ve mentioned there, you know, epitomize what Manchester United are as a football club. Having special players, and what special players do for Manchester United. So there’s three.
“The last one might be a little bit difficult because there’s been so many unbelievable players. Tough one for me, but I’ll put Roy Keane in there.
“I had the opportunity to play with him. Fantastic player, great leader, an inspiration off the football pitch, and I’d say his leadership skills, just phenomenal.”
