Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen has a £50million release clause with Newcastle United among the clubs interested.
Newcastle United are one of several clubs interested in signing AFC Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.
The Magpies were linked with Huijsen last summer before he completed his £15million move to Bournemouth from Juventus. Nearly a year on, and his price tag has more than tripled.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League, playing every minute of the Cherries’ last 16 matches. That included their 4-1 win at St James’ Park in January, where Huijsen and centre-back Illia Zabarnyi were heavily praised for keeping Alexander Isak quiet.
Eddie Howe’s side are in the market for a central defender this summer with only Sven Botman under the age of 30. Meanwhile, both Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles are out of contract in June, although Schar is expected to sign an extension.
Newcastle United will find it difficult to sign Dean Huijsen
But transfer expert Fabrizio Romano believes Newcastle will find it difficult to sign Huijsen, with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also credited with an interest. And the latter is understood to be the Spain international’s preferred destination.
“Real Madrid have to decide internally what they want to do for centre-backs but they appreciate the player, they appreciate Dean Huijsen,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“No decision yet on what [Real Madrid] want to do in terms of centre-backs. What I wanted to add on Dean Huijsen and Real Madrid is that in the days while he was with Spain, Dean in some interviews said that ‘I would be proud about Real Madrid. I feel proud when I see all the reports about Real Madrid.

“He's not lying. Dean Huijsen is really, really happy when the links about Real Madrid come up because he believes that Real Madrid is a fantastic football club, is one of the biggest clubs in the world. So the ambition for Dean Huijsen is really to reach that level and so Real Madrid is absolutely part of the clubs he would love to join.”
Dean Huijsen isn’t the only player on Newcastle United’s shortlist
Romano has also backed up The Times’ story that Newcastle are again interested in Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah. The Magpies asked about the 22-year-old last summer but saw their approach rejected.
Posting on X, Romano wrote: “Jarell Quansah, on Newcastle shortlist for centre back position ahead of the summer transfer window as @Mhardysport reported. No contacts/talks yet, but he’s on the list.

“Dean Huijsen, another name appreciated but Newcastle feel it will be difficult to get deal done.“
The word on Merseyside is that the Reds plan to keep hold of Quansah. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi remains on the radar after Newcastle tried to sign him last year but refused to meet his £70m asking price.
