Chelsea are looking at a European goalkeeper as a potential transfer target for the summer.
In terms of the Chelsea squad right now, the keeper position is one of the obvious areas that needs fixing. It’s quite telling that Blues manager Enzo Maresca has tried both Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen as the first-choice goalkeeper this season, but both are yet to really seize the position.
It’s previously been reported that Chelsea’s summer transfer plan includes ‘going big’ on signing a new shot-stopper.
Chelsea fans want to keep Djordje Petrovic, who’s a talented goalkeeper impressing during a season-long loan at Strasbourg. However, speculation in the transfer rumour mill suggests the Blues are looking out for new keepers.

Chelsea eyeing Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United are among the clubs eyeing a potential move for Roma’s Mile Svilar this summer.
It is understood that the 25-year-old goalkeeper is stalling on a new contract with Rome amid transfer interest.
The report adds that Roma could decide to sell Svilar for around €35m (£29m) rather than continue with negotiations over a new deal. Apparently, the player isn’t happy with the current offer on the table.
It’s been a long time since Chelsea fans felt super comfortable with their man in between the sticks, so we’d put it as a priority to sort the position ahead of next season.

Sanchez will be Chelsea’s starting goalkeeper for the rest of the Premier League campaign, but surely the club needs to find an upgrade in the next few months. Svilar is a new option put on the table, with loanee Petrovic is equally impressing at Strasbourg.

What Jose Mourinho once said about Mile Svilar
Back in October 2017, Manchester United secured a 1-0 away win at Benfica in the Champions League.
Jose Mourinho, who’s had two legendary spells managing Chelsea, was the Man Utd boss at the time. Meanwhile, Svilar played in goal for Benfica.
When discussing Svilar, Mourinho said via The Mirror in 2017: “He is a phenomenon, he is amazing… Either Benfica has a top goalkeeper for many years, or the president should prepare a big suitcase (for the money).”
Svilar played at Benfica between 2017 and 2022 before moving to Roma.
