Ex-NBA Player Says Suns Must Keep Kevin Durant, Devin Booker for Their ‘Best Interest’

The Phoenix Suns have had a terrible season thus far as they are currently fighting for their playoff lives with the postseason right around the corner.

Entering the season, the Suns were expected to be one of the top teams in the Western Conference due to their superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

Instead, they sit 11th in the West standings with a 35-39 record which has them one game behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final Play-In spot in the West.

Of course, the Suns were able to go on a recent hot streak over the last few weeks as they had won four consecutive games. Despite that, Phoenix has dropped their last two games in blowouts to both the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves.

With the Suns struggling, they are expected to make some major changes in the offseason which could see them trade away Durant.

Phoenix listened to offers for Durant ahead of the trade deadline this season but ultimately elected to keep him. That may change in the offseason though.

Despite this, former NBA player Carlos Boozer recently said on ESPN that the Suns should keep Durant and Booker together.

"I think they should try to. I think Kevin Durant and Devin Booker together is so dynamic," Boozer said. "They both can take over a game. If they can keep these two superstar players together, it would be in their best interest."

Of course, the Suns have played well over the last two weeks with Durant and Booker leading the way while Beal has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

With the Suns looking like a much better team with Durant and Booker leading the way, Boozer makes a solid point that they should look to keep them together in the offseason and try and trade Beal.

Despite this, the relationship between Durant and the Suns front office may be irreparable, which could eventually lead him to be traded.
