Jets Team Captain to Buffalo?

At the height of his career, former All-Pro linebacker C.J. Mosley has been known as one of the most consistent players at his position and an excellent leader.

The former member of the New York Jets is looking for work now, though, and a backup role may be the only thing that the veteran may be able to get at this point - unless he chooses to retire at this point.

With an injury-riddling linebacker already on their roster, it's not out of the realm of possibility for the Buffalo Bills to at least consider bringing Mosley in for a backup role.

And that's exactly what one analyst thinks could work as well.

"Last week, the rival Dolphins signed linebacker Willie Gay Jr. Prior to joining the Saints in 2024, he spent four seasons with the Chiefs and was a part of two Super Bowl title teams," Russell Baxter of Bills on SI said. "Now the Bills could turn their attention to a 10-year defender who comes off an injury-shortened year, but could still be a contributor to a unit that could gave up 115.5 yards per game rushing during the regular season, and 130.0 yards per outing during their three-game playoff run."

Mosley dealt with multiple injuries this past year with the Jets including a neck injury that many thought would end his career, If the veteran is looking to keep playing, though, the Bills may be an excellent fit.

At the very least, the Bills need quality backup behind All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano. The 30-year-old linebacker has played in just nine games with the team over the last two seasons.

Mosley may have injury concerns, but he's played in over 100 games, and could be an excellent role player for the team at this point.
