When a team possesses the player that won the league MVP last season, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Vegas and betting circles try to overvalue the team he is on.
That could be what is happening to the Buffalo Bills this offseason.
ESPN Bet released its projections for win totals with all 32 NFL teams for the 2025 season. Four teams were tied for the most at 11.5. Buffalo was one of those teams with the Eagles, Chiefs, and Ravens.
Buffalo reached the AFC Championship game last season but ended up losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in late fashion for another year. While the Bills do return Josh Allen and a strong overall defense, do they belong in the same category with the Chiefs and Eagles at this point?
That remains to be seen.

"They're a good football team, they've won two Super Bowls, they've been to seven straight AFC Championship games. That's no excuse, this is a good football team. We got to keep working at it to get over that hump, there's no doubt about it," McDermott said after the AFC Championship game loss. "We've won a lot of tough games this year against really good opponents, really good coaches and I'm proud of this team for it. This is obviously a challenge for us. We'll figure it out."
Buffalo is definitely getting younger as an overall team, but they have to prove they can win deep in the playoffs before they are considered true Super Bowl contenders at this point.
And they haven't done enough to do that at this point in their run.
