Duke Blue Devils star Cooper Flagg is widely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. After living up to the hype throughout his freshman season, Flagg has helped lead his team to the Elite Eight.
In fact, Flagg and Duke will face off against Alabama tonight in what should be an incredibly exciting matchup.
Throughout the course of his freshman season with the Blue Devils, Flagg has played in 35 games. He has averaged 19.0 points per game to go along with 7.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks. In addition, he has shot 48.7% from the floor and 37.2% from the 3-point line.
Every team in the NBA would love to land Flagg. However, notable sports analyst Nick Wright has offered one preferred destination for him.
As shared by NBACentral, Wright wants to see Flagg end up with the Miami Heat.
"I feel like Miami got screwed by Jimmy Butler and I think that would be a little vindication," he said.
Of course, Wright naming the Heat as his favorite landing spot for Flagg has brought on quite a bit of reaction from the fans.
One fan wrote, "Wizards and jazz deserve cooper Flagg. No one else."
Another said, "Well I think Flagg deserves to play with Luka and Reaves so what does that mean."
"Pat Riley screwed the Heat. Let's keep it real…," another fan commented.
"No. Who cares about the Heat? NBA Media trying to make south Miami an important nba stop is undefeated," yet another comment read.
A final comment took the opportunity to throw shade at the Dallas Mavericks, saying "I'd say Dallas should get him but their GM would probably trade the pick to LA for Jarred Vanderbilt and a 2031 second round pick."
Flagg will look to continue his NCAA Tournament run with Duke and will have to make a decision about his future and potentially entering the NBA draft when that run is over.
