The New York Jets have been searching for their franchise quarterback for years. They thought they found one in Aaron Rodgers, but we all know how that went.
Enter Justin Fields on a two-year deal as new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey look to turn this troubled ship around.
With Fields as the starter right now, along with veteran Tyrod Taylor and unknown commodity Jordan Travis, the Jets' quarterback room has a lot of question marks hanging over it.
Granted, the mess made over the past two seasons isn't an easy fix, but Glenn and Mougey are doing their best to usher in this new era with a fresh new look.
But when looking at the Jets' quarterback room, is there a reason to panic if you are a fan? For Bleacher Report, on a scale of one to 10, the panic meter is reading five for New York.
"The New York Jets ended the Aaron Rodgers era and signed Fields to a two-year, $40 million deal," Bleacher Report writes. "Entering his fifth year, Fields has a lot to prove after an inconsistent three-year run with the Chicago Bears and losing the starting job to Russell Wilson with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. The Jets have a reliable backup in Taylor, who has 58 career starts on his resume. Travis and Martinez will battle for the No. 3 spot. Still, the 26-year-old must show more improvement to keep his job."
Fields has yet another opportunity to show that he can be a starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL, but it doesn't feel like he has a long rope in 2025, especially with Taylor waiting in the wings. So too Travis.
But Fields does have upside, and if offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand can get some solid play out of the former first-rounder, then 2025 might not be as doom and gloom as some think.

Of course, this upcoming season is all about steadying the ship, and yes, there will be troubled times as Glenn looks to mold the team into his image, but given the state of the franchise, there is little reason to panic about the quarterback situation.
Why? Because there's every chance the Jets' long-term franchise quarterback isn't even on the roster yet.
