New footage on social media has shown exactly what Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe did to potentially earn himself a ban for the Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.
This week, it was announced that UEFA was investigating the conduct of Mbappe, as well as his teammates Antonio Rudiger, Dani Ceballos and Vinicius Junior following the victory over their rivals Atletico Madrid in the round of 16. Los Blancos won the game in dramatic circumstances with Julian Alvarez's penalty being disallowed for a controversial 'double tap' in the shootout.
Real would take advantage with Rudiger scoring the winning spot kick to take the shootout 4-2. Following his goal, the centre-back ran the length of the pitch with his teammates to celebrate the victory with their supporters.
The away fans were situated in an upper tier meaning Real's players were celebrating directly in front of the home supporters below them. This led to trouble with home supporters throwing objects onto the pitch however the Real players did not seem to be completely blameless.
Several players chose to goad the home supporters which only sparked tensions and UEFA announced they would be looking into the above mentioned players' 'indecent conduct.' Exactly what separated these players' actions from their teammates was somewhat unclear but new footage of Mbappe looks incriminating.
Recirculating the footage on his social media channel, Arsenal supporter Rory Talks Football shared a clip of Mbappe grabbing his crotch in the direction of the Atletico fans. Should UEFA deem this to be particularly provocative, the forward could receive a ban which would affect his involvement in the quarter-final against the Gunners next month.
