Shedeur Sanders Plummets in Latest NFL Mock Draft

Given the importance of the quarterback position in the NFL draft, most of the signal callers are drafted near the top of the first round, even if they don't seem like clear-cut first-round picks. This could be a bit different with regards to Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Many people seem to believe the Colorado quarterback isn't necessarily a first-round talent, but could still be taken in the first three picks in the draft. However, in the latest mock draft from Kyle Stackpole of NFL.com, he has Sanders falling to 26 to the Los Angeles Rams.

Not only does Sanders plummet in this mock draft, but he gets taken by a team who he'd be a backup for to begin his career.

Sanders does at least seem like a potential starter out of the gates and is less developmental than the rest of the quarterback class besides Cam Ward. That means he will more likely be a starter at some point next season, which wouldn't be the case, barring an injury, in Los Angeles.

All of the Titans, Browns, and Giants have a conundrum when it comes to the top three picks in the draft. There seem to be two clear top prospects in Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter, but all three teams need a quarterback.

It seems the Titans are set on taking quarterback Cam Ward and are confident in the pick, but the Browns and Giants might not be as confident in taking Sanders.

That could mean Sanders has a dramatic fall come draft night, which could only be remedied by a huge trade up from a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers potentially.

Of all the prospects in this year's draft, Sanders is definitely the most volatile, ranging from being a top-three pick to barely being in the first round.

Interestingly, there are trades in this mock draft but none involving Sanders. A trade seems very likely for Sanders if he were to fall this far.

The Buffalo Bills trade up to the 24 spot with the Minnesota Vikings to acquire safety Nick Emmanwori. The Vikings drop to pick 30 to take offensive lineman Grey Zabel.

The Jacksonville Jaguars also trade up to the 32nd pick with the Philadelphia Eagles to select Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka.

As rumors continue to swirl around Sanders, it will be interesting to see what actually happens come draft night and what big storylines will come out of it.
