Few teams in the NFL this offseason put up the kind of aggressive offseason that the Washington Commanders were able to do over the last month.
Washington acquired veterans like Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel to help put them over the hump as an organization compared to other top teams in the conference to this point.
But while many moves have been commended for the Commanders, one particular analyst doesn't believe that is worthy of anything more than a "B+" grade this offseason as a team.
"On the surface, the splash trades for Samuel and Tunsil appear to be beneficial for the Commanders, but it's hard to ignore the red flags," an SI writer says. "The Texans were willing to let Tunsil go after back-to-back poor seasons for the offensive line as a whole. And Samuel has been unable to match the impact of his 2021 All-Pro season because he's not a traditional wide receiver who's capable of quickly getting open with his routes.

"But if Tunsil and Samuel play at top form, the Commanders could be a legitimate Super Bowl contender after being the surprise playoff team last season."
It is true that Samuel and Tunsil have major injury concerns at this point. Any flare-up with those injuries could very well concern any of the top contention plans for Washington at this rate.
But to the cruz of the conversation, few teams in the league have added All-Pro talent like Washington has. And that alone should get them to feel confident that they'll be back in title contention this season.
