As Trent Alexander-Arnold prepares for life at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich have reportedly tabled a blockbuster £74m offer in an attempt to deal Liverpool another transfer blow this summer.
Bayern submit £74m bid to sign Liverpool star
The Reds sit top of the Premier League and on course to take the crown at the first time of asking under Arne Slot, but that glory won't stop recent rumours from raining down on their parade. With Alexander-Arnold set to join Real Madrid as a free agent, the Reds will be bidding farewell to an academy graduate for the price of nothing in a nightmare end to his Anfield rise.
Those at Anfield have now got to hope that Alexander-Arnold's pending exit at least paves the way for both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to sign hefty new contracts. Meanwhile, reports suggest that they could also face a battle to keep hold of another star man.
According to reports in Spain, Bayern Munich have now submitted a blockbuster €90m (£74m) offer to sign Cody Gakpo this summer. The Dutchman has enjoyed his best season yet at Anfield and, alongside Salah, has been forced to drag the Reds' attack to victory at times.

Arne Slot wants to improve his Liverpool frontline this summer.
To lose such a talent would undoubtedly deal Liverpool a major blow. Whilst the exit door may swing open for Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez this summer, it simply must remain firmly closed for Gakpo.
From early struggles under Jurgen Klopp, the Dutchman has become more important than ever under Slot.
"Great" Gakpo is now crucial at Liverpool
It wasn't so long ago that it was difficult to name Gakpo's best position. Klopp attempted to play the Dutchman in the leading attack role for some time, but he never truly seemed to click. He was even thrown into central midfield at times last season as the Reds struggled with injuries. No matter what, Klopp just couldn't quite seem to figure the former PSV Eindhoven star out.
Slot, however, has had little trouble. Gakpo has thrived in his favoured role on the left-hand side - scoring 16 goals and assisting a further six in all competitions. Both he and Salah provide the foundation for an attack which simply needs a leading marksman to arrive if it is to become complete.
Cody Gakpo celebrates for Liverpool
The winger's praise has unsurprisingly come with plenty of praise, including from teammate Kostas Tsimikas. The left-back told reporters before the international break: "He’s a great, great player. I think he showed from the time he came in how special he is and how he can put his body [in], very strong, very quick.
"Now with the many goals he puts in, I think he’s a top player for the team. He’s always a hard worker. Even in attack, even in defence, he’s always there to help the team to achieve our goals and, of course, to score goals for the team. I’m really, really happy for him."
