Mayor Johnson to honor Savannah native, Super Bowl Champion Nolan Smith, Jr.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Mayor Van Johnson and the City of Savannah will hold a ceremony recognizing Savannah native and Super Bowl Champion, Philadelphia Eagles Linebacker Nolan Smith, Jr.

The ceremony will be held Monday, March 31, during Nolan Smith, Jr.’s Charity Golf Tournament. It will be presented by the [Nolan Smith Foundation](https://www.nolansmithfoundation.com/), which is dedicated to “using the platform and outlet that sports provide to support and inspire communities in need.”

The press conference will celebrate Smith’s remarkable achievements in the NFL, his Savannah contributions, and his commitment to philanthropy through his foundation.

“Nolan Smith, Jr. represents the best of Savannah, a relentless work ethic, a passion for excellence, and a deep commitment to giving back to his community. We are proud to celebrate his accomplishments and the impact he continues to make both on and off the field,” said Mayor Johnson.

Smith played a pivotal role in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory and continues the work to empower young athletes and fostering educational opportunities through his foundation.

The ceremony will take place at the Southbridge Savannah Golf Club, located at 415 Southbridge Boulevard, starting at 2:45 p.m.
