The noise, the passion - watch the moment the NUFC parade bus came down Gallowgate

It was a scene that I've never seen in my lifetime and, yes, I cried (again). The moment the Newcastle United parade bus appeared at the top of the Gallowgate, and the roar that greeted it, was something I'll never forget.

Fans had lined the streets for hours before the 4.30pm [bus parade journey](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/all-about/newcastle-trophy-parade) from St James' Park started. By 3.30pm, Percy Street was ten rows deep with fans and a sea of black and white was gathered at the end of Blackett Street and around the corner of Gallowgate.

The noise was deafening long before the bus made an appearance as fans chanted, with "[Toon! Toon](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/all-about/newcastle-united-fc)! Black and white army" ringing round the city many times, as well as lots of horns and cheering. But that was nothing compared to the roar of sheer joy, praise and celebration that greeted the bus when it appeared, flanked by a police motorcycle escort.

The bus appeared at the top of Gallowgate and took about five minutes to travel down, with fans running behind it and waving flags as the players and Eddie Howe smiled and waved down from the top deck. I was lucky enough to watch this from the window on the top floor of Eldon Square with colleagues from the Chronicle.

The video above shows the moment the bus appeared, and hopefully also gives you a sense of the size of the crowds that greeted it - simply thousands of people dressed in black and white. The city looked and felt incredible - and the Town Moor party tonight promises to continue those celebrations for many hours to come.
