The Tennessee Titans have kept their plans with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft close to the vest under a new front office. While there have been persistent NFL rumors regarding the team’s interest in Cam Ward or potentially trading down, there’s now chatter about another move that could happen on draft day.
Tennessee is keeping its options open publicly, suggesting it could pass on Ward to select either edge rusher Abdul Carter or two-way player Travis Hunter. It’s also evident that Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi is open to trading down, with the hope of landing multiple first-round picks while staying in the top four of the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, the growing consensus around the league is that Ward will be the first overall pick and take over as the Titans’ starting quarterback in 2025. That belief coincides with a feeling among some in the league that Tennessee might trade quarterback Will Levis.
Discussing the Titans’ situation on Friday’s episode of the Inside Coverage podcast, senior reporter Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports touched on Levis’s situation in Tennessee and a likely split from head coach Brian Callahan.
“It’s emanating from inside the franchise that Callahan and Will Levis are not long for each other’s company. That Levis is not going to have a chance to be the starting quarterback there. I think other NFL teams think that Will Levis could be made available as we head into the draft or during the draft.”

Will Levis stats (ESPN): 2,091 passing yards, 13-12 TD-INT, 27.8 ESPN QBR, 63.1% completion rate
Levis, the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has only spent a season with Callahan. However, Tennesse’s head coach was highly critical of his starting quarterback in press conferences this past season, often blasting his second-year player publicly.
In Callahan’s defense, Levis showed no signs of improvement in his second season. The quarterback’s interception rate skyrocketed from 1.6 percent to 4 percent and his yards per attempt (7.1 to 6.9) also dropped. With Ward potentially joining the franchise within the next month, Levis could be flipped for a Day 3 pick during the 2025 NFL Draft.
