Giants’ Nabers Reacts to Russell’s Scouting Report

New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers finds himself in a tough position in his early in his career. The young star finds himself as a core tenet of an offense lacking any identity at the quarterback spot.

Many receivers entering the league expecting some stability there. For the New York Giants, it has been anything but since the start of the 2024 campaign.

The Giants had four different starters under center, most notably former starter Daniel Jones who the team cut midseason. With some turnover, New York's still has questions heading into next season.

They will return Tommy DeVito and have signed both Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson in recent weeks. Wilson made his decision this week and projects as the early favorite to land the starting job.

In his opening comments with the team, Wilson spoke very highly of his new No. 1 receiver.

"Just his ability to make plays. I love Malik, man. Just watching him, his personality on the field, his demeanor... the competitor, the warrior that he is, there are a lot of guys like that."

Nabers had a response on his Instagram story, reposting a clip from Wilson's description with a reply of two smiling emojis.

That "competitor" tallied 109 receptions for 1,204 yards. Regardless of who Nabers was paired with on the field or who he had at quarterback, his impact was felt. Now, he will look to formulate a connection with Wilson.

Wilson has made his rounds through the league in recent years, finishing his tenure in Seattle before moving onto the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers last year.

Now, he will pair with Nabers, arguably the most talented receiver he has thrown to in years.

The long term future of the Giants' quarterback position remains an unknown, but perhaps the young playmaker may benefit from sometime with an experienced former Super Bowl champion.
