Aston Villa are ‘leading the race’ for this Premier League star.
Aston Villa are on the market for new attacking options as they prepare for the summer transfer window to open for business. Noni Madueke is one of the targets currently on their radar and a new report suggests they may have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of his signature.
Madueke signed for Chelsea in January 2023 for £29 million. His first full season with the Blues saw him return eight goals and three assists in all competitions and he has matched that tally this time round as well, with eight goals and four assists across the term.

Despite not always starting for the Blues, the 23-year-old has put in some impressive performances. Madueke’s most notable display this season was his hat-trick against Wolves back in August, contributing to Chelsea’s thrilling 6-2 win.
Aston Villa ‘leading race’ to sign Noni Madueke
Aston Villa have been showing their interest in Madueke and according to GiveMeSport, they have been handed a ‘significant boost’ in their pursuit. Chelsea are reportedly beginning to show signs that they will listen to offers for the winger once the transfer window opens at the end of the season.
Villa are currently ‘leading the race’ to sign Madueke and there is optimism within the club that their Premier League rivals will cash in. Chelsea have been backed to sell up this summer if there is a guarantee they will make a decent profit on their initial signing.
Villa benefited financially from the sale of Jhon Duran during the winter. The Colombia international signed for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in an initial deal worth £65 million. As a result, pitching a fee that Chelsea will be happy with shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

The Villans already signed Ian Maatsen from Chelsea last summer and there is now an ‘eagerness’ to reunite him with former teammate Madueke. The report claims both Villa and Newcastle United are the main names in the race for Madueke.
Noni Madueke backs himself following stunning Wolves display
Madueke’s performance against Wolves at the start of the season sparked a lot of buzz. A thrilling first half saw the match enter the break at 2-2, leaving everything to play for in the second 45.
It wasn’t long after half-time before Madueke put Chelsea ahead but he wasn’t willing to stop at just netting the winner. The winger snagged another two goals to secure his hat-trick, before Joao Felix scored the eighth and final goal of the match.
All of Madueke’s goals were set up by Cole Palmer, who also got himself on the scoresheet to showcase a clinical display against Wolves. The England international has made famous his ‘Cold’ celebration, and Madueke played on that after the match.

“He is cold and I am fire, so it mixes well. He has always got the ability to play the right pass at the right time, so it's brilliant,” Madueke said after the match. “First [goal] was bit lucky, second one was just Cole Palmer, two brilliant, weighted passes I just had to step on to score. I'm made up for the hat-trick but more made up that we won the game.”
