Newcastle United trophy parade: 15 best photos as Eddie Howe and Toon heroes lift cup on Town…

Newcastle United's English head coach Eddie Howe celebrates with the League Cup trophy

What a day for those supporting Newcastle United! Not for more than a generation has the city witnessed the type of scenes on display. Starting in the city centre, the parade made its way to the Town Moor, where the players took to the stage in front of tens of thousands of supporters.

Bruno started with some family-friendly chants before turning to Sandro Tonali's iconic anthem which is often heard on the terraces at St James' Park. "Sandro Tonali, Sandro Tonali! He eats spaghetti, drinks Moretti, he hates f****** Sunderland."

Meanwhile, after each star and back-up player has enjoyed their moment on stage, Howe was keen to make sure some of the backroom team that don't get a mention got their opportunity to enjoy the moment. The Newcastle boss called forward the likes of player liaison office Tony Toward, groundsman Mick Curran and kitmen Ray Thompson and Neil Stoker.

Here are some of the best images from the iconic Town Moor scenes.
