Oriol Romeu says he’s hoping he can face parent club Barcelona on Sunday when [Hansi Flick’s side take on Girona in La Liga](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/barcelona-la-liga/2025/3/29/24396071/how-will-barcelona-line-up-against-girona-la-liga).
The midfielder was set to miss out due to a ‘fear clause’ in his loan deal, but Girona are said to be willing to pay a €300,000 fee which would allow Romeu to feature.
Romeu spoke about the possibility of featuring on Sunday and hasn’t given up hope he could be involved.
> “It’s most likely that I won’t be able to play. I have a small hope that an agreement can be reached,” he told Catalunya Ràdio. “Obviously, it will be complicated.
>
> “I don’t want to miss any games, but in the end, playing against Barça is always one of those special moments in your career.
>
> “Playing against the best players in the world and being able to be in such beautiful venues excites you as a player. And even more so given the current state of play as a team.
>
> “On a personal level, I’m looking forward to getting minutes, being on the pitch, and finishing the season well.”
Girona are set to be without several players for the game including Iván Martín and Donny van de Beek, while John Solis is also rated as doubtful.
