The 2024-25 season was O’Neal’s first at Florida A&M after two seasons at Texas Southern. He carved out a role for himself, averaging 6.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game. He appeared in 29 contests for the Rattlers and started 17 of them.
Shaqir was a 3-star recruit in high school, according to his Florida A&M bio. He is listed at 6-8 and 200 lbs. He may not be a major player, but some program will likely have a spot for him.
Shaqir is not the only one of Shaq’s sons to try to carve out a basketball career. Shareef O’Neal has been trying to carve out a role in the G League in recent seasons, but is currently without a team.
