FRISCO - Overall, the Dallas Cowboys' rushing offense was subpar through the 2024 season. Rico Dowdle pieced together an 1,000-yard campaign essentially out of nowhere, marking the lone major accomplishment for the team in that area.
The Cowboys have already shown they want to make a heavier commitment to the ground game. Brian Schottenheimer has supplanted Mike McCarthy as the team's head coach and play caller, ready to deploy a more run-focused approach.
That attitude has carried over to the roster as well. Dallas said goodbye to Dowdle during free agency and have brought in Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams to jockey for position on the depth chart in the coming months.
However, the Cowboys are not expected to be content with only those additions. Many expect the team to add one more running back in the NFL Draft.
Months ago, Ashton Jeanty was the clear and obvious choice. That has since changed and Dallas will likely rely on the depth of this class to provide them an option on Day 2 or Day 3.
Quinshon Judkings of Ohio State is among that contingent and Brandon Loree of Blogging the Boys has an interesting comparison for the soon-to-be rookie.

Loree shared a graphic from Kent Lee Platte on X, showing a correlation to former Cowboy Marion Barber when he came out of Minnesota in 2005. The two share similarities in size and weight along with some other traits across the board.
However, Judkins could be looking at more of a featured role if he finds his way to The Star. While the Cowboys have enhanced their depth chart with two veteran presences, some fresh wheels coming out of the backfield would surely be a welcome sight.
Assuming the Cowboys nail down other needs earlier in the draft, Judkins should have the skill and opportunity to be an ideal fit.
