Turner played four seasons with the Aggies, totaling 10 sacks and 24 TFLs in 43 games. The 6-foot-3 defensive lineman had his best season as a junior, sacking the quarterback 6 times and forcing 2 fumbles.
Turner offers position flexibility. The 290-pound defensive lineman played defensive end before transitioning to defensive tackle. Turner’s combination of speed and power allows him to be a liable pass rusher from the inside, while his size helps him maintain ball carriers.
The Saints will switch to a 3-4 defense after the hiring of defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. With the shift, they'll look to add more size and pass rush to their line. The versatility of Turner makes him a possible target to take over in the Saints system.
Turner is projected to be a third to fourth-round pick. With New Orleans controlling two third-round picks and two fourth-round picks, they’ll have plenty of resources to select the Texas A&M lineman if available.
