Eddie Howe, Dan Burn and Bruno Guimarães react to Newcastle's cup celebrations

Newcastle United have toasted their Carabao Cup win with a bus parade and a celebration event in the city.

It is estimated that around 150,000 people attended both events on a day that will live long in the memory of the Toon Army.

It is unlikely to be a day that Newcastle players and staff will forget in a hurry either.

"An amazing day. I never knew what to expect really but when we got on the bus and started that parade through the city centre - what a response from those who braved the cold conditions.

"They've supported us in their numbers and it is an amazing celebration of passion.

"There's always emotion when you are in this city; thankfully, the emotion of the moment is positive. We wanted to recognise that. We wanted to show the people that their passion is matched by ours and it means a lot to be involved with this football club.

"You saw a rawness of the emotion and you can see what it means to everyone and different generations of Newcastle supporters. You've got babies, older people a real mix but they are all generational Newcastle supporters.

"For the players, I hope they see how important their job is and what their impact can be on people if they are successful."

" I knew it was going to be an occasion but I don't think I could imagine anything like this. The thousands of people who were there and how happy everyone was. It made me emotional and I had to compose myself a few times. I just feel very, very lucky to be in the position I am.

"Families here, my kids are here, my parents, nieces, nephews the lot. It's just so nice that I get to share this with them.

"Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing moment for me but seeing how happy we've made the region, that's probably the special bit.

"I don't know if it was always the plan to have a bus parade but I think for the lads on board, it was the special moment. Something we will never forget."

"Unbelievable, I think even in my best dreams I couldn't imagine it for this club. Wow. It was unbelievable to see the fans. On the way, I saw kids, old guys crying I think we made history. Everyone here deserves it.

"It has been my dream since my first day at the club, I said I want to put my name in the club history and now I've done this. I am living my dreams here.

"Now we have time to think about the history we've made but we want to win more."
