Eagles ‘Tush Push’ Debate Continues All-Time Greatness

You know a play or team is dominating the league so well that other teams try to ban what makes them so good. The Philadelphia Eagles may be forced into that situation soon.

As owners and coaches all converge in Florida for the weekend's owner meetings, a big part of the debate will be whether or not the Eagles historic variation of the quarterback sneak - the Tush Push - should be banned.

The Green Bay Packers, the team the Eagles knocked off in the wild card round of the playoffs en route to a Super Bowl title this season, were the team that requested for the play to be banned entirely.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic stated that there was "growing support" for the play to be banned entirely.

The debate of the Tush Push is as foolish as the call to ban it. The play is a basic quarterback sneak with the obvious addition of players pushing a ball-carrier forward. This happens all across the field on offense and is not just with specific quarterback sneaks.

If the play were to be banned, it would show that the Eagles' entire offense should be honored, much like Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Mel Blount was for the "Mel Blount rule" that changed the way teams were able to pass the ball in the late 70s.

To crate and run a play that was as dominant as the Eagles so other teams complain about it shows how historical the current Eagles are.

And how they should be celebrated about the play to begin with.
