FRISCO - The NFL Draft is fast approaching and teams are piecing together their draft boards. This also presents a major moment for the prospects themselves to make their claims to prospective franchises.
Shedeur Sanders is one of those highly touted prospects and he finds himself in a unique situation at this time. Many view Sanders as the No. 2 quarterback on the board, but has an extensive range of potential landing spots come draft day.
In most years, teams with quarterback problems picking in the top 10 are quick to address those needs. This time around, those needs are apparent but not as urgent for Sanders' potential suitors.
But his father, former Dallas Cowboys' star and rumored head coaching target Deion Sanders, believes his son should face this uncertainty head on and embrace the pressure.
He revealed in a conversation with Skip Bayless that he is not interested in interfering with the draft process.
"No, because that's not God's will right now," Sanders said. "I want Shedeur to do what he's consistently done, excel against all odds. I like the hating, I like the naysaying, I like the ignorance, because it makes us feel better about what we do. It gives him another chip on his shoulder."
Both the coach and the quarterback blocked out the noise the past two seasons at the University of Colorado, leading a remarkable turnaround for a program that had a 1-11 record before their arrival.
Deion spirited the culture change for the Buffaloes while Shedeur became a star on the field and one of the biggest names in the college ranks. The challenge gets heavier for him entering the pros.

More likely than not, Sanders will be drafted into a situation not set up for him to succeed immediately. That is usually the case with these teams picking early on night one, but there is no question he will be battling adversity in his rookie season.
When looking at potential landing spots like the New York Giants or Cleveland Browns, there is an added element of veteran competition that will make it more difficult to claim a starting job from the jump.
Regardless, it appears he and his family are up to the challenge.
