Ja Morant has had an up-and-down season for the Memphis Grizzlies so far. The 25-year-old is averaging 22.3 points on 44.9 percent shooting with 7.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds but has missed 30 games due to injury.
The Grizzlies (44-29) are in a chaotic moment, as they fired head coach Taylor Jenkins on Friday after six seasons. Meanwhile, Morant (hamstring) has missed their last six games.
Memphis could use Morant against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, as the two teams are tied for fourth place in the Western Conference. The Lakers now have LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves all back, but the Grizzlies' star is a question mark.
Grizzlies interim coach Tuomas Iisalo says Ja Morant (hamstring) will be a game-time decision tonight, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
If Morant can't go, 2025 All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. will have to lead the offense without him. The latter is averaging 22.4 points on 49.4 percent shooting with 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists this season.

The Grizzlies are 1-2 against the Lakers this season. Los Angeles won the most recent meeting 116-110 on Dec. 15. These two teams would meet in the playoffs if the season ended now, which would be a rematch of the 2023 Western Conference Quarterfinals. The Lakers won that series 4-2.
After Saturday's game, the Grizzlies will host the Boston Celtics on Monday and the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday before a three-game road trip against the Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, and Charlotte Hornets. The team is 5-5 in its last 10 games.
