On Saturday, the Los Angeles Lakers are going head-to-head against the Memphis Grizzlies. Since both teams share a 44-29 record, the winner of Saturday's matchup will get a huge boost in the standings. This is crucial for both teams as there are just a couple of weeks left until the end of the regular season, and they are both in a battle for homecourt advantage.
As the Lakers aim to secure a victory against the Grizzlies, they will rely heavily on star forward LeBron James, who is in the midst of another star-level campaign. During the game, the Lakers made a historic announcement regarding the four-time champion.
Now in his 22nd NBA season, James is constantly breaking records and achieving unprecedented milestones. This is no different on Saturday as the Lakers announced that James scored his 42,000th point against the Grizzlies.

It has been a little over two years since the Lakers star passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA's all-time scoring list, but he is still making history as James is the first player in league history to cross the 42,000-point threshold.
While James is still breaking records and making league history, it is fair to say that his biggest goal is winning another NBA title before calling it a career. The Akron native last appeared in the NBA Finals during the 2020 Bubble, when he and the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in six games.
The Lakers will face a lot of competition this postseason, but they are a team to keep an eye on for a potential deep playoff run as James looks to add a fifth ring to his collection.
