The defeat was City’s first in seven as their unbeaten run came to an end, as other results saw them stay nine points above the relegation zone, albeit dropping down to 17 th . Despite the loss, Trevitt saw positives to take from the match.

“They are a side that’s effective, solid defensively, and find ways to score,” Trevitt said. “It is frustrating because there wasn’t too much in the game, but they were solid and found a way to win. That’s why they are doing so well and why they are up there. We have to take lessons from that and find ways to be more effective ourselves.”
The Brentford loanee stressed the importance of focusing on their strengths and bouncing back quickly, with a trip to Barnsley on Tuesday night. He added. “We have to know what we are good at and be effective in the final third. We need to score goals.
“We’ve been on a good run, but we have to keep doing what we do best. This is just a little setback, but it’s a chance to focus on the next game, see what we can do better, and move on quickly.”
