**GAZA CITY, Palestine**
The Gaza Media Office voiced hope Saturday for the swift formation of a temporary administration for the enclave, following an Egyptian vision that was previously agreed to.
It said an administration would "pave the way for creating the necessary conditions for the formation of a unified Palestinian government, combining both the West Bank and Gaza, with Palestinian national consensus."
The office highlighted that existing government institutions are "working solely on a service-based framework away from political dimensions, to meet the needs of citizens amidst the difficult circumstances and ongoing genocide.”
It underscored that the continued work of the institutions aims to "prevent any vacuum that would have dangerous consequences on the reality in the Gaza Strip."
It also reiterated the importance of advancing the "Arab-Islamic plan for the reconstruction of what Israel has destroyed and creating the conditions necessary for a unified national vision."
On March 4, a final statement from an emergency Arab summit on Palestine reiterated the rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land under any circumstance and endorsed an Egyptian plan for the reconstruction of Gaza.
The plan includes forming a "Gaza Administration Committee" to manage the affairs of the enclave in a transitional phase for six months. The committee will be independent and composed of non-factional "technocrats" working under the umbrella of the Palestinian government.
Hamas previously confirmed that it would not be part of any administrative arrangements for Gaza's future, but only if they are nationally agreed upon.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated March 4, "Our position is clear; any arrangements for Gaza's future after the end of the aggression will be made through national consensus, and we will facilitate the process."
The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on Gaza on March 18, killing more than 920 victims, injuring over 2,000 and shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.
More than 50,200 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 114,000 injured in a brutal Israeli military onslaught on Gaza since October 2023.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
