The 20-year-old striker has done quite well since the move to Porto, and he has 20 goals in all competitions this season. As per CaughtOffside, he is a target for Manchester United as well, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can win the race for a signature.
The striker has been linked with a move to Arsenal as well.
They could use another striker to support Dominic Solanke in the attack, and the talented young Spaniard would be the ideal long-term investment for them. He is young enough to improve further, and he could develop into a key for the club.
Spurs will be hoping to fight for trophies in the coming seasons, and they need a deeper squad with more quality. The 20-year-old striker will add goals and creativity to their attack. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in English football as well. He has been described as a “very intelligent” striker by former Atletico Madrid scout Javier Vidales.
The 20-year-old striker has a €100 million (£84m) release clause in his contract, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince Porto to accept a more reasonable fee. It is unlikely that any club would be willing to pay his release clause in the summer. He is still relatively unproven at the highest level, and Tottenham will not want to pay a club-record fee for him.
