West Ham United are set to battle Chelsea in the race for summer transfer target Emanuel Emegha.
The Hammers have had a difficult 2024-25 campaign, which has seen them languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table throughout the season as they have fought to avoid relegation.
Julen Lopetegui struggled to make a mark at the London Stadium and was eventually dismissed as Graham Potter was hired to steady the ship and ensure they avoided the drop.
Potter’s men currently sit 16th in the table and are 17 points above the relegation zone in a situation that is now comfortable.
With West Ham having secured their top-flight status, the focus is turning toward next season and how the club will strengthen in the summer to try and avoid repeating what has happened during this campaign.

According to Ryan Taylor in the Sunday Mirror (30 March), West Ham are interested in signing Strasbourg’s “red-hot” forward Emanuel Emegha during the summer transfer window.

Emegha has impressed for Strasbourg
Emegha would be a strong addition to Potter’s current options, with the Irons boss looking to strengthen in the final third this summer.
Potter is also hoping to sign a striker this summer, with Jonathan David being a top target, and bringing in Emegha would only complement that if they were able to make both signings happen.
The Hammers are among the admirers of the winger, and that is something they are set to pursue in a bid to strengthen the squad.

West Ham have competition to sign Emanuel Emegha
West Ham are not the only team who are interested in signing the Dutch attacker, as Chelsea are also monitoring his performances at the moment.
Chelsea’s sporting director Laurence Stewart was in France for Strasbourg’s 4-2 win over Lyon on Friday (28 March), and Emegha was a player who he was specifically watching.
The Blues have had no problem splashing the cash throughout the Todd Boehly era, and that’s set to continue this summer, which could provide West Ham with some serious competition when it comes to signing Emegha.
