West Ham star Mohammed Kudus has an £85 million release clause which can be triggered this summer
Tottenham Hotspur and Ange Postecoglou have had a season to forget in the Premier League this year, sitting in the bottom half of the table for large parts of the campaign.
However, behind the scenes, early groundwork is also being laid in north London regarding summer signings, while the Australian tactician looks to complete the Premier League season as strongly as possible and win the Europa League.
In attack, the Lilywhites have been linked with Bournemouth playmaker Justin Kluivert and Aston Villa forward Leon Bailey of late. Now, it looks as if they could get a chance to land one of their previous targets.

According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, West Ham United are ready to sell Mohammed Kudus during the summer transfer window—a player who was previously linked with Tottenham. To avoid breaching PSR limits, the Irons want to free up funds by cashing in on the attacker to allow Graham Potter and the recruitment team to rebuild the squad.
One of West Ham’s best players, Mohammed Kudus, has had a quiet season as per the high standards he has set in the Premier League since arriving from Ajax in the summer of 2023. The Ghanaian’s performances have been way too inconsistent as the Hammers continue to lie in the bottom half of the table. He has only managed three goals and an assist in 24 Premier League games thus far—a stark contrast from the debut season the African enjoyed at the London Stadium.
Yet, Kudus is viewed as West Ham’s most sellable asset. The aforementioned report adds that the 24-year-old, who has an £85 million release clause that can be activated this summer, is open to leaving the London Stadium. Cash-rich Saudi Pro League clubs are the only ones who would consider paying close to that release clause. Kudus, on his part, would be open to the idea of moving to the Saudi Pro League.
Should Ange Postecoglou convince the Tottenham board to trigger Mohammed Kudus’ release clause?
Tottenham missed out on signing Kudus before he joined Ajax from Danish club FC Nordsjælland. Daniel Levy has made a habit of missing out on quality players, and he again failed to recognise the Ghana international’s talent some years ago. Spurs could have brought the left-footed attacker to Hotspur Way in a transfer worth only £700,000 when he was plying his trade for FC Nordsjaelland.

Now protected by an £85 million release clause, Kudus is not short of suitors heading into the summer transfer window. As he is open to leaving West Ham after two seasons, Tottenham triggering his mammoth release clause would be a statement of intent from Levy. However, we don’t think Levy would splash such an astronomical fee on a quality player, despite the North Londoners enduring one of the worst campaigns in the Premier League era.
