For a young player, it is very common to go on a loan spell, which could ultimately help the player in his growth. However, going on a loan spell is not always helpful for every player.
Some players could benefit from it, while some might find it hard to play in a new environment and under a new manager. So, the former coach recently explained why Liverpool star Curtis Jones never wanted any loan move.
Curtis Jones is playing much better football this season for the Reds. The 24-year-old made 37 appearances this season across all competitions. Especially his movement and playing style in a tight position in the midfield zone are very impressive.
Curtis Jones joined the first team squad after graduating from the Liverpool academy. The English international, however, never went for any loan move before making his mark in the first team squad.

Why did Curtis Jones never want to go on a loan move
Recently, former first-team development coach Vitor Mato, who worked with Liverpool during the time of Jurgen Klopp, explained why Curtis Jones never wanted to go on a loan move. According to a news published by this is anfield, he said,
“One, Curtis had this character that he wanted to prove himself all the time with the first team, so he never wanted the pathway of proving himself out of Liverpool. That gives you already one direction.
And second, his exposure in terms of [the] game was always good enough for his development. So he had space, he was having consistent exposure, and at the same time, the development was still coming.”
Over the years, Liverpool has brought in some of the best players in the first team squad from the Liverpool academy.
Players like Trent Alexander Arnold, Conor Bradley, Caoimhin Kelleher, Joseph Gomez, etc. These players ultimately showed their potential and grew over time. Curtis Jones is also doing brilliantly with the team in recent times.
